WHAT EXACTLY IS A BLUE DIAMOND?
Blue Diamond is a type of diamond which exhibits all of the same inherent properties of the mineral except with the additional element of blue colour in the stone. They are coloured blue by trace amounts of boron that contaminate the crystalline lattice structure The step-cut gem, recovered from Cullinan mine in South Africa in April last year, is the largest vivid blue diamond ever to appear at an auction.
